How to read date codes?

FROZEN TURKEY

As a rule, you can keep a Frozen Butterball Turkey in its’ original packaging for a minimum 2-year period. The turkey must remain frozen. The packaging must be without tears or holes and the vacuum seal intact.

A production date code should be printed on the back/side of a Butterball frozen whole turkey bag or it may be printed on the tag.

If your code starts with 25:

For example:  2500011210C

What it means:

If your code starts with LOT:

For example LOT 00120 EST 137

What it means:

If your code starts with 150:

For example:  15000011210

What it means:

If your code starts with 6 or 7:

For example:  6 20 1

What it means:

ROAST AND STUFFING:

Butterball boxed Turkey Roasts will have the production date code on an end flap.

Butterball Stuffing will have the production date code on the back/side of the bag

If your code starts with 25:

For example: 2500011210S

What it means:

If your code starts with EST:

For example: EST 137  00120
