How to thaw a turkey?
Refrigerator thawing is recommended but, to save time you can submerge your turkey in cold water. Do not thaw at room temperature as illness causing bacteria may grow.

You can thaw a frozen turkey in the refrigerator. Simply place your bird in its unopened wrapper breast-side up on a tray in the refrigerator. Allow one day of thawing for every four pounds of turkey,
Cold Water Thawing
Cold water thawing a turkey is faster than refrigerator thawing. Place your turkey, in its unopened wrapper, breast down in a sink filled with cold tap water. Change the water every 30 minutes to keep surface of turkey cold. Thawing time is about 30 minutes per pound.
