Butterball Zesty Za’atar Turkey

Ingredients

4.5 kg Butterball Frozen Turkey, thawed1 stick butter, melted3 Tbsp Za’atar seasoning1 tsp sumac1 Tbsp salt1 orange, zested1/2 orange, juiced1.5 Tbsp fresh rosemary1.5 Tbsp fresh thyme1 onion, halved1 garlic, halved1 orange, halvedFresh herbs, for stuffing

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F. Pat dry your thawed turkey and mix melted butter with Za’atar, sumac, salt, orange zest and juice, rosemary and thyme and set aside.

  2. Stuff turkey with onion, garlic, halved orange, and fresh herbs. Brush butter mixture evenly over the turkey.
  3. Use the Turkey Calculator on butterball.ca to determine cook time based on the weight and type of turkey, and when ready, internal temperature should read 165°F/74°C in the breast and 180°F/82°C in thigh on meat thermometer.
  4. Remove turkey from oven and allow to rest for about 15 minutes before carving. Enjoy!
